Dream Again

A little while ago a good friend and former coworker from the Springs Church , Jill Ruckman, shared a message on Dreams. In it she spoke of God being the ultimate dreamer, for he dreamed and created all that is. It got me thinking. Every time we dream and work to see the dream become reality we are acting in line with God’s image in us. Many of us though, despise our dreams under the guise of being realists. We live resigned to the notion that this is as good as it will ever be. We are adults who can’t afford to be swept up in childish fantasies. I challenge you this year to seek God and have him show you His dreams for you because your own dreams are most likely smaller than His. The bible says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”, and, “no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” I choose to reaffirm the dreams planted in the deep recesses of my heart. It is a choice because life has a way of challenging dreams. And if left unchecked, what once were burning fires of hopes and desires will lie cold, still and lifeless, buried under mountains of the mundane. This year dare to dream! For inspiration, check out these lyrics and the sample video of the song inspired by that sermon:
DREAM AGAIN
Verse 1
What do you do when you reach for a star
That is always out of reach?
What do you do when you think you’ve caught a dream
Only to wake up and find its still far?
What do you do when you best is not enough
And after many tries you’re on the ground?
Chorus
Reach again, beyond the dream
To the dreamer of it all, to the keeper of your hopes
Reach again, push beyond the pain
To the place where your hopes are alive
Dream again
Verse 2
What do you do when life tells you that
You’re an adult and old people do not dream?
What do you do when you feel you’ve missed the wind
And your ship has sailed?
What do you do when you’ve lost the sense of wonder
And the child inside of you lies still
